How to change the world by being a neo-capitalist

With the global financial crisis of 2008 fading into the distant past and bankers and financiers back to their old ways of awarding themselves massive bonuses it is pertinent to ask whether we have learned anything or if the capitalist system is back to business as usual.
Back in 2008 global leaders including the then Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and US President Barack Obama scolded the players in the financial markets for their unrestrained greed but almost in the same breath they reached into their pockets (read ‘our pockets’) to provide billion dollar bailouts.
The bailout packages and stimulus measures that governments implemented around the world were premised on one thing – that the economic downturn, no matter how big or how much it can be compared to the Great Depression – is in fact just a momentary blip on the ever expanding growth of global capitalism.
